WATCH: GBBO Facing Viewer Backlash Over Controversial Footage

WATCH: GBBO Facing Viewer Backlash Over Controversial Footage

Great British Bake Off viewers have accused this year's judges of bending the rules while picking the last three finalists, with some even calling the show a "fix" and a "conspiracy".

BTW, there's plenty of spoilers here, so don't read on if you've not watched it yet!

Fans of the show saw Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood decide who to eliminate in the semi final on Tuesday night, however some fans were outraged after Stacey was booted off the show, following a not so successful patisserie week, bless her...

Steven, Kate and Sophie now remain to bake and battle it out in the competition next week, but before the judges made their decision, Paul Hollywood announced that they would have to change the judging criteria to help them whittle down the contestants from four to three. Naughty, Paul!

This meant they would now take into account all of the contestants' creations throughout the entire series.

Loyal GBBO fans will know that this isn't how the show works. You can be star baker one week, but then be booted off the next for a soggy bottom...

Paul, and his steely blue eyes, explained: "Initially we have to have a look at this weekend closely and if that has still not drawn any obvious answers, it is so close, than yes you look back retrospectively on the whole series.

"It has only happened a couple of times."

This meant that Stacey was forced off the show, however some argued that Steven should have been chucked out the tent after his chocolate basket melted.

THE HORROR. I'm sure Mary Berry wouldn't have let this happen.

Steven appears to have been a favourite with the judges since day one, and even got the first Hollywood Handshake. (I'm sure Sophie would beg to differ, but that's a whole other matter!)

Fans rushed to Twitter to air their complaints that Paul and Prue had changed the rules last minute, and one viewer exclaimed: "Stacey! Steven very lucky based on that performance. - I've never baked anything in my life."

A second commented: "Wasn't the biggest Stacey fan but Steven definitely should have gone after that 'show stopper'."

"Lmao soon as they said "we'll take past weeks into consideration" I knew Stacey was out If they kept consistent it'd've been Steven [sic]," slated a third.

A final blasted: "Just watched the to see Stacey done over. Steven should have gone. Feels like a fix."

I'm just still outraged that Liam was booted off the show the week before TBH.
