GBBO's Newest Judge Prue Leith Might Not Be Returning For Another Series
It goes without saying that this year's series of Great British Bake Off has been the most dramatic yet.
First of all there was the obvious casting change after the show moved from BBC One to Channel 4.
Then there was fridge gate, which saw loads of viewers complaining over this particular scene...
Yep, people really took time our of their day to complain about that.
But just as we were all getting used to Noel Fielding, Sandi Toksvig and Prue Leith's new squad, it looks like even more GBBO drama could be on the horizon, as one of them might be missing in action next series.
Speaking to The Sun, new judge Prue revealed she hasn't yet been asked back for another season of the baking show.
She told the publication: "I'm still hoping Channel 4 will ask me back for the second series. They've asked me about timings and schedules but I've not seen or heard anything about a contract. It could all change, like The X Factor."
Not going to lie, I'd definitely tune into a six chair challenge if it meant Paul Hollywood was forced to sweat for his job, but it might just push me into the soggy bottom abyss.
We were put through enough emotional turmoil when the news dropped that Mary Berry was leaving the programme, and it's not something Channel 4 should be putting us through again.
The cooking legend has, however, been thinking about what she could do with her spare time if she weren't to return to the show to release her new-found savagery.
She explained: "I actually gave up writing before Great British Bake Off. I'd been doing it [writing cookbooks and novels] for years and it took up too much time. But I've been coaxed back into it and now I'm writing and cooking more than ever. It's a busy time."
Prue, hun, just keep doing you.
