Great British Bake Off viewers were moved to tears last night by the bakers' sweet Hawaiian shirt tribute to Jon Jenkins, who was eliminated in the previous episode.

While Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding got into the Scandi spirit for Danish week, Rahul, Briony, Manon, Kim-Joy and Ruby all donned colourful Hawaiian shirts as a nod to the blood courier.

Jon failed to impress with his vegan tarts and Bet Lynch-inspired showstopper during vegan week, and it seems like his fellow bakers were gutted to see him leave the Bake Off tent.

Viewers had become accustomed to his tropically patterned shirts, and the marquee would have been a little less colourful this week if the bakers hadn't have donned their own versions.

GBBO fans flocked to Twitter in tears over the touching tribute, with one person exclaiming: "*Sobs* OMG, they're all in Hawaiian shirts for John. I can't take it."

"Omg are they all wearing flower shirts in honour of Jon?!" tweeted a second viewer.

And a third posted: "The fact they are all in Hawaiian shirts makes me very happy."

"LOVE that the bakers are all wearing Hawaiian shirts this week," praised somebody else.

It seems like Jon was pretty chuffed by the emotional tribute too, as he retweeted a number of images of his former co-stars wearing the shirts to his Twitter followers.

Rahul struggled during Danish week despite constantly wowing the judges with his humble attitude and incredible showstoppers during previous challenges.

But it was Manon hanging up her apron at the end of last night's episode, as her Danish bakes just weren't up to scratch, with Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood choosing to give her the boot.

Ruby scooped the coveted prize of star baker for a second time during this series of GBBO.

Great British Bake Off continues on Channel 4 at 8pm next Tuesday.
