GBBO fans believe Kim-Joy was 'robbed' of a victory during last night's finale, after Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood chose to crown Rahul ultimate star baker.

Rahul struggled with the doughnut and pitta bread challenges set by the judges in the first and second rounds.

He also had to be given an extra 15 minutes when a glass mason jar exploded during the showstopper in the heat, meaning he had to start baking all over again but impressed with the end result.

Kim-Joy placed first in the technical pitta bread challenge which saw the bakers cooking on open fires outside the tent, wowing the judges with her selection of dips.

But it wouldn't be a final without any fix claims either, and hordes of angry fans have taken to Twitter to claim that Kim-Joy had been 'robbed' from a Great British Bake Off champion title.

"Justice for Kim-Joy! She was robbed," declared one viewer.

And somebody else added: "KIM-JOY WAS ROBBED. SHE IS THE REAL WINNER."

"Great British Bake Off?! More like Great British Snake Off! Kim-Joy was robbed and Rahul should have been out weeks ago. This is definitely a fix," fumed a third.

Thankfully, Kim-Joy herself was a little more gracious as the result was announced, saying: "I am so, so pleased for Rahul but I'll just tell people that I was in the final."

She also congratulated Rahul on Twitter last night, sharing: "Congratulations Rahul!! I am so happy to have got to the final and I am just so proud of us all."

While that's it for another year, a celebrity special of the show will be airing in spring.

Russell Brand, Michelle Keegan, Rylan, Big Narstie and more will be starring on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer.

And you can also start dusting off you aprons and recipe books, as applications are already open for Great British Bake Off 2019.
