If you've seen Game of Thrones or Conan the Barbarian, you know Jason Momoa is an intimidating guy. Not only does he measure at a height of 194 centimetres and weigh more than 100kgs. *Swoons*.

His bad boy looks are also aided by an impressive scar running over his eye and down the left side of his face.

The 38-year-old because he looks like he could take down anyone - which brings us straight on to how he got the permanent facial scar.

LA resident Dominic Bando got into an argument with the Aquaman star at the Bird Cafe in 2008. But instead of keeping it verbal, Dominic decided to smash a pint glass over Jason's face and the actor was taken to hospital, where he needed about 140 stitches. His attacker also suffered some injuries but was eventually sentenced to five years behind bars.

Now that sounds like it would have hurt!!!

You'd think Jason wouldn't have been a happy bunny about having a distinctive facial scar, considering his early modelling work helped launch his career in film and television. But the actor's reaction was the direct opposite.

He told the New York Post: "I got called 'pretty boy' my whole life. If anything, it's like, 'Good.' It's not my thing now."

But that wasn't the only incident which altered the way Momoa's face looks today. Before filming started on Conan the Barbarian, he told a mate he'd look more like the character with a broken nose. So, according to Hollywood.com, without a second's thought, his buddy whacked him in the face and broke his nose.

It certainly hasn't affected his career in Hollywood as he's gone from strength to strength since that 2011 movie, which was released a few months after his stint on Game of Thrones as the menacing Khal Drogo.

Not only was he the badass leader of the Dothraki but he was also the first husband of Emilia Clarke's character Daenerys Targaryen...

However, a rape scene between the two actors was the first of several shocking moments in the renowned HBO show.

Momoa had to apologise after making light of the fictional situation during a Q&A where he was asked about working on sci-fi and fantasy genres. He said: "As far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that genre because there are so many things you can do, like rip someone's tongue out of their throat and get away with it, and rape beautiful women."

He later took to Instagram after the 'joke' went viral on social media: "I know my sincerest apology now won't take away those hurtful words. Rape and sexual harassment can reach anyone and I have seen first-hand its painful torment among members of my own family and friends.

"I made a truly tasteless comment. It is unacceptable and I sincerely apologize with a heavy heart for the words I said. All apologies, Jason."
