Instagram Post Convinces Fans A 'Sabrina' And 'Riverdale' Crossover Is Happening
For a while now, fans have been convinced a Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale cross-over is in the works. While there's been no 'official' confirmation on the mash-up, there has been a ton of teasing through Riverdale Easter eggs spotted through the Sabrina The Teenage Witch remake. And now, fans have one more clue to add to the list of evidence.
Posting on Instagram, Sabrina actress Kiernan Shirpka posed for a selfie with Riverdale star KJ Apa, who plays Archie Andrews, and fans are convinced it was taken during the filming of the teen series collab.
The actress jokingly captioned the photo: "Me & the royal baby," referring to KJ's character's name in the Netflix drama, leading people to think it was a hint at the crossover.
One fan wrote: "The Riverdale/Sabrina crossover we are still waiting for", while another asked: "Is this a crossover episode?"
Another fan decided it was: "Proof Riverdale [sic] and Sabrina shall collide," while another pleaded: "Bring Sabrina to Riverdale [sic] please."
One more Instagram user echoed the view of many, saying: "We want a Riverdaleand Sabrina crossover, please."
But of course this isn't the first hint we've had about a crossover, with producers of Sabrina dropping sneaky little Riverdale references all through the first and second series.
These include sightings of Riverdale characters in their animated selves in the Pennington credits of Sabrina, references to Riverdale High in the first series, sighting of Archie Comics and posters for sports games between the 'Riverdale Bulldogs' and Sabrina's fictional high school, Greendale.
If that isn't enough to convince you, there was also a pretty major hint given in series one, episode seven, when a character from Riverdale actually makes the transition over to Sabrina.
Yes, Riverdale's Ben Button rocks up in Greendale as a pizza delivery guy, delivering to Ms. Wardwell's house.
We know it's meant to be Ben (and not just another acting role for actor Moses Thiessen) because of his name-tag saying his name.
The evidence is there - can we get on with this crossover already?
