UK's Eurovision Entry SuRie Reveals Injuries From Stage Invasion On This Morning

The Eurovision Song Contest graced our screens for it's 63rd year over the weekend.

While the general night as a whole ran rather smoothly, it hit a blip in the road when a protester 'stormed' on stage (pardon the pun) right in the middle of UK entry SuRie's performance.

SuRie, whose real name is Susanna Marie Cork, handled the moment itself like an absolute pro, and the whole of the UK applauded how incredible it was that she managed to continue on with the rest of the song despite the rather rude and frightening interruption, but on Monday's This Morning, she revealed the extent of what really happened to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, and it was a lot scarier than we all realised.

Turns out, SuRie was actually left INJURED from the stage invasion. Speaking on the daytime TV show, the singer claimed: "Well, there's a couple of bruises, scuffs, you know. But I'm okay."

She claimed that her shoulder was hurt from the way that the protester had 'barged into her' and that she also sustained injuries on her hands after he snatched the microphone out of her hands. Speaking to Holly and Phil, she praised how quickly the security managed to get their hands on the intruder.

"No, there wasn't any time to feel fear, there wasn't," SuRie revealed. "He was suddenly there, security were on him as quick as he was on me. He got the mic for a few seconds that was out of my hands, but the song was still going, the backing vocalists were still singing, the crowd was still chanting."

Many fans rushed to show their support for SuRie and how incredibly she handled the scary situation on social media. One user wrote: "SuRie just got assaulted on stage, mic taken off her and she waited for them to take him away and then picked up the mic and carried on! That is worth 12 points alone for class!"

She did the UK proud, and even though we were never going to win (let's be real...) she gave it a pretty good fighting shot. Fair play, SuRie.
