While we're still getting over the excitement of its new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge expansion which officially opened its doors last month, Walt Disney has just given us another reason to book our tickets to the US - a Marvel-themed land will be opening in its California Adventure theme park as early as next year.

Believed to set the company back more than $14 million (just over £11 million) - which is nothing compared to the $2 billion that Avengers: Endgame alone has raked in so far - the city of Anaheim has permission for new bathrooms, retail outlets, character meet-and-greets and a craft brewery, replacing A Bug's Land which closed in September for demolition.

While Disney - who acquired the Marvel empire in 2009 for a cool $4 billion - has declined to comment on the permits or what types of attractions will be included in the new land (boo!), keen fans have reportedly been following the construction through online search permits recorded at Anaheim City Hall.

And according to SlashFilm, we can expect rides and attractions based on Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Ant Man and The Avengers.

Marvel
If you can't wait until next year, there's a number of other Marvel attractions in place around the world - Hong Kong Disneyland has an z experience and a newly-opened Ant Man & The Wasp attraction at its park.

Meanwhile, an Avengers-themed ride and Spider-Man version are set to launch at Disneyland Paris imminently.

Marvel attractions are also planned for three other parks, including more in Hong Kong Disneyland in 2023, Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2020 and at Epcot Park in Florida in 2021 so if you're not already a fan, it might be time to get on board.

Talking about the news, President of International Theme Park Services Dennis Speigel told the LA Times: "They are coming back to capitalize on what's going to be a huge success with Galaxy's Edge.

"It's the right cross and then an uppercut that knocks the market out."

Roll on 2020!
