Although she was on the show to promote her book, What Would Dani Do?, the hosts, Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, couldn't resist asking about her recent breakup.

Dani said: "Oh, oh god, that really started me off, didn't it? We broke up earlier this week. It's just one of those things, isn't it?"

When asked if she was okay, Dani said she was "alright", and added that the pair are "as well as we could be", saying they would "always remain friends and stuff".

Dani said one of the causes of tension in the relationship was the constant press attention.

"I think it is really really tough having a relationship in the public eye because you sort of go from one thing to another," she said. "You're in such a bubble when everything's so perfect and then you come out and you're like, 'OK, this is it now'.

"I think when you first come out of Love Island you get so much love and everyone loves you and the papers, they're great, and then all of a sudden it's like they turn on you a little bit and then you've got to deal with that."

Last week, Jack shattered the hearts of fans when he announced the pair were no longer together in an emotional Instagram post.

The reality TV star wrote: "There is no easy way to say this and it isn't going to be an easy time but me and Dani are not in a relationship anymore.

"We will always care a lot for each other and have love for each other and I mean that from the bottom of my heart and I wish her nothing but happiness.

"We have some amazing memories together and have been through a lot but sometimes things aren't meant to be and we really did try to make it work but it unfortunately didn't and that is life.

"That's all I have to say, a break up is hard enough as it is for both of us let alone in the public eye so I hope everyone is considerate and understands this. X."

Dani has previously spoken about the split, denying it was a publicity stunt and saying it was "just one of them things".
