We're all a sucker for a festive film: from Elf, to Home Alone to The Holiday... there are some staples which the nation collectively watch every year without fail.

So when we heard that there was once again going to be a TV channel dedicated to Christmas movies this year, we were so excited.

While last year we binged on the True Christmas channel to our heart's content, this year it will be Sony Movies Christmas channel bringing all of the classics into our homes.

And what's more, it launches NEXT MONTH. That means we can put the tree up in September this year, right?!

It will showcase its films in themed weekends, including 'Santa Sunday,' 'Christmas Comedy,' 'Bah Humbug' and 'Christmas Animals'.

Every night they will also schedule in an emotional film at 7pm - so get your tissues ready, as there will be everything from Christmas Grace and All I Want Is Christmas airing for when we want a soppy night in.

This isn't the only exciting Christmas movie news, as a Home Alone reboot was recently announced as one of the many new Disney+ revivals.

While some were simply thrilled to get a new take on the movie, the news didn't come lightly for many, with cries of 'Why touch a classic?!' echoing across social media.
