Bless The Harts will be a half-an-hour per episode, animated comedy series, much likeThe Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob's Burgers.

Fox hasn't yet revealed when the new comedy will air on television, it's widely thought that it'll join the network's Sunday night animation block, possibly replacing the newly cancelled The Last Man on Earth.

The main thinking behind this is Blessed The Harts is actually being made by the team behind The Last man on Earth, executive producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Seth Cohen.

Fans of the series will also know that Kristen Wiig also appeared on the final as an eccentric socialite.

The new series is created by veteran comedy writer Emily Spiver, who has worked with both Kristen and Maya many times in the past - including Saturday Night Live, Masterminds, Up All Night, The Last Man on Earth and Wine Country which is yet to be released.

Blessed The Harts will follow a group of skint Southerners who are in a desperate bid to become rich and famous.

On the announcement of the new series, Fox's entertainment president, Michael Thorn, said: "Emily Spivey has the uncanny ability to observe the simplest qualities of everyday life, framing together bold characters and hilarious stories built around warmth and heart.

"Having grown up in a close-knit Southern family, she has a deep well of material that has inspired her to create this show, with a phenomenal cast, headlined by Kristen, Maya, Jillian and Ike. As home to television's most iconic animated families - the Simpsons, Griffins and Belchers - we're thrilled to welcome the Harts to Fox."
