Cold-blooded killer Villanelle and her nemesis Eve appear alongside footage from programmes like Luther, Line of Duty and Baptiste and it's enough to make us want to stay in and watch TV every night of the year.

Warning: If you haven't watched season one of Killing Eve yet (seriously guys, it has been out for months), you might want to look away now as spoilers are coming up...

Season one ended on a huge cliffhanger as assassin Villanelle disappeared from her Paris apartment after MI5 agent Eve finally caught up with her and brutally stabbed her.

The exciting new trailer comes just weeks after the BBC released the first official pictures for season two, hinting at what could be in store in the latest instalment.

In the pictures obtained by Entertainment Weekly, Eve can be seen sitting in a bathtub visibly traumatised, presumably as a result of what happened in Paris.

Another picture shows an injured Villanelle appearing to hail a taxi, which would suggest she survived the attack.

Chief writer and executive producer Emerald Fennell told Entertainment Weekly: "Eve has done something, which may have changed her forever, that will have repercussions with every relationship in her life."

This is going to be incredible.
