The Netflix Originals thriller is coming to the streaming service on 18th July, but we don’t recommend you watch this alone.

While we all love a Netflix rom-com - we were pretty disappointed when To All The Boys I've Loved Before wasn't nominated for an Oscar to be honest - sometimes we like to grab our girlfriends and freak ourselves out with a good thriller.

And that's exactly what we'll be doing on the evening of 18th July when Secret Obsession drops on Netflix.

Taking a far darker spin on a relationship than we're used to, the film - which is written by Kraig Wenman and Peter Sullivan, who is also the director of the film - documents the story of newlywed Jennifer, played by former Suite Life of Zack & Cody star Brenda Song, who falls into a coma and loses her memory after bring brutally attacked at a rest stop.

In a newly-released trailer by Netflix, we see Jennifer healing at a secluded home from her injuries with the help of her caring husband Russell (played by Mike Vogel). There's only one small problem though - Jennifer can't remember anything about her past life - including the man who claims to be Russell.

Oh yeah, and he's not her husband at all.

Making You's Joe look like Noah from The Notebook, Jennifer's stalker takes his obsession to a whole new level, and when a detective starts looking into the assailant, it quickly comes clear to Jennifer that she could be in some serious trouble.

While it's not clear what's happened to the real Russell, it's safe to assume he's succumbed to a similar fate.

"I think people (me included) just love scaring themselves," said Brenda to Refinery 29. "Obviously having a stalker is no joking matter, but stalker movies are just so fascinating and terrifying."

You can check out the trailer below. We reckon we'll be sleeping with the lights on after this one.
