Ant McPartlin Will Be Back On Saturday Night Takeaway This Weekend In Pre-Recorded Scenes
Ant McPartlin is in rehab following his drink drive crash, however viewers will see him on Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.
Show bosses have decided to screen the whodunnit drama 'Saturday Knight Takeaway', which features Ant on the next show.
According to The Sun's Bizarre column, producers have decided to risk a backlash from viewers in order to screen the final episodes of the scripted mini-series, which will star Joanna Lumley, Michael Sheen, David Walliams and Emilia Fox.
A show insider explained: "There's been some discussion about whether the whole of the series should be ditched because Ant features heavily.
"But after a lot of soul searching it was decided that the final two episodes should run because viewers have loved the series and want to find out the conclusion in the final two episodes. Obviously it means Ant will still be on the show in some form.
"At the moment talks are taking place about exactly how his situation in regards to the drink driving charge and rehab will be addressed."
It is unclear if and how the show will address Ant's absence, with the source adding: "At the moment talks are taking place about exactly how his situation in regards to the drink driving charge and rehab will be addressed."
Ant was charged on suspicion of drink driving a week ago, following a three-car crash in South West London. He will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on 4th April.
The TV star checked into rehab the next day, just seven months after he left a facility where he was being treated for an addiction to prescription drugs.
Last weekend's episode of Saturday Night Takeaway was cancelled as a result, but Dec will present the final two episodes of the beloved series without his longtime co-host and best friend.
