The first full trailer for American Horror Story 1984 has landed, and it's everything we hoped it would be.

With inspiration from 80s slasher classics such as, Sleepaway Camp, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and Halloween, the FX film shows Emma Roberts, Cody Fern and Billie Lourd as they're confronted by terrifying serial killer Mr Jingles for the first time.

Set in a summer camp (which was also once home to 'the worst summer massacre of all time'), Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy will make his debut on the show as Emma's boyfriend.

Meanwhile Lionel and Dear White star DeRon Horton also makes a first appearance on the show, which promises to be full of big hair, bright colours and leg warmers in equal measure to the terrifying, campy horror.

In the trailer, aerobics pals Emma and Billie are seen arriving at the camp alongside Gus and Cody - where they all now have jobs.

Camp Redwood is still scarred from the killings it once homed, with blood stained bunkbeds and traumatised veteran counsellors on site.

And as expected, things soon get spooky when Mr Jingles escapes from a nearby mental hospital.

Fears mount that he's looking to return to the camp where he committed his killings, and it doesn't take wrong before they're proven justified.

Mr Jingles is seen in one clip from the trailer masked and yielding a huge knife, while all the key cast members can be seen screaming and covered in mud in a dramatic and tension packed sequence.

The new full trailer comes after a teaser clip left fans excited in April, featuring a woman running from a masked killer wielding a large knife in the woods.

It still doesn't give a whole lot of the plot away - other then the fact the stars are likely fleeing from a bloodthirsty murderer.

You'll have to tune in to see who makes it out alive...
