The trailer for Amazon's brand new TV series Upload is bringing us major Black Mirror vibes.
The sci-fi series that will land on Prime Video on 1st May is a comedic offering from Emmy-Award winning writer Greg Daniels (The Office US) and it is set in a technologically advanced future.

This future is one where there are hologram phones, 3D food printers and automated supermarket stores. But what's most unusual is that humans can choose to be 'uploaded' into a virtual afterlife when they near death.
The trailer begins with this exact premise, as a man, Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell) ends up in hospital following an accident involving a self-drive car.
Once inside he is allowed to decide his fate. Either, go to the operating theatre, or choose to be 'uploaded'. He, with the help of "shallow" girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) chooses to be uploaded to her family's luxurious virtual afterlife known as Lakeview - which looks a cross between a luxurious hotel and a fancy care home.

On arrival, he meets his customer service angel Nora Anthony who becomes his concierge and guide (Andy Allo) but the pair quickly form a friendly bond and she becomes his confidante, helping him navigate his future in this afterlife.
This ten-episode series certainly nods to Black Mirror, showing us a world changed by advanced technology beyond our comprehension.
Except, the whole series looks a little more comedic and a little less scarring (which we're sure everybody will be pleased to hear, right now).
We're already wondering already whether Nathan will regret his choice to join his girlfriend's family's afterlife location.

Or, perhaps he's actually going to fall in love with Nora? Will he wish he'd gone to the operating room after all? We guess we'll find out.
Upload launches on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 1st May.
