Narcos is coming back to Netflix for a fourth season, and it's set to be explosive.
After series two documented the demise of the almighty drug lord Pablo Escobar, show creators decided to take it that step further by developing a third series based on the exploits of the Cali Cartel, and it was incredible.
Now, show creators Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro have decided to take a step back and showcase the broader war on drugs with its new companion series, Narcos: Mexico.
While the original three series focus on the illegal drug trade in Colombia, the companion series will focus on the drug war's roots, going back to a time when Mexican drug trafficking was a disorganised frenzy of independent growers and dealers, much different from the empire built in Colombia.

Narcos: Mexico has enlisted some A-list talent to tell the incredible story, including Diego Luna from The Terminal and Ant-Man's Michael Pena, who step into the lead roles.
The series will take viewers on the journey of the rise of the Guadalaja Cartel in the 1980s as Félix Gallardo (Diego Luna) unifies rogue traffickers to begin the empire, with himself at the helm, of course.
Michael Pena's character, DEA agent Kiki Camarena moves his family from California to Guadalajara to take on his new role, however, it's not long before he realises it would be more challenging than he could've ever expected.
Eventually, Kiki gathers intelligence on Felix and becomes heavily involved on his mission which inevitably leads to a tragic chain of events - affecting the future of all drug trafficking to come.

Other cast members include Tenoch Huerta, Joaquín Cosío, Teresa Ruiz, Alyssa Diaz, and José María Yazpik, who of course is reprising his role from the third series.
The new series will hit Netflix on Friday, 16th November, and we seriously can't wait.
