Abducted in Plain Sight told the world about the heinous life and crimes of Robert Berchtold and the fact that one of his victims, Jan Broberg, refused to let his horrific acts define her life. But director, Skye Borgman, has now opened up to her audiences FAQs and announced that she's planning a sequel.
Skye addressed some of the main questions that audiences have asked and claims there's even more to this story than we originally saw.

The tragic story deals with issues of paedophilia, abduction, sexual assault, kidnapping, rape, mental torture, manipulation, and the seemingly irrevocable breakdown of a family.
The documentary tells the story of Jan Broberg, a pre-teen girl who was kidnapped not once, but twice, in the 1970s by a friend of her LDS family named Robert Berchtold, who manipulated both her and her parents and raped her repeatedly.
Spoiler alert: aside from sexually molesting and brainwashing Jan to believe she was an alien and his molestation was all part of a plan to save an alien race, Robert also seduced both of her parents.

His aim was to gain Mary Ann and Bob's trust separately to manipulate them into getting further access to their young daughter, Jan.
Both of Jan's parents were romantically involved and having affairs with Berchtold and even after he abducted their daughter, they both remained in contact with him as he continued to deceive them about what he had done and where their daughter was.
Director, Skye recently told Vanity Fair, that she's interested in making a followup to the original .
She talked about wanting to include a deleted scene that involved "a meet-up that Mary Ann (Jan's mother) had with Berchtold in a parking lot, allegedly involving a gun and Mary Ann's brother" that, as yet, remains on the cutting room floor.
Another deleted scene showed a forensic psychologist looking at court transcripts and other evidence of Berchtold's fixation with Jan to help Skye get a professional read on "B".

Skye is hoping to reexamine this story "to explore the different topics that we didn't have time to really dive deep into, like the role that faith plays-maybe not even just L.D.S.(The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints )-but the role that faith plays in sheltering communities.
"Also grooming and brainwashing-there are really interesting, intricate things that happen, and we touch on both of those topics in the documentary, but I'd love to explore those more. I guess in a perfect world, it'd be sort of a trilogy of films".
