For many of us growing up, our dream was to get engaged and have a full, Disney fairytale wedding. For most of us though, that hasn't turned out to be a reality.

However, one couple had other ideas, though, and wanted to make their Disney dream wedding a full-blown reality.

After getting engaged next to Sleeping Beauty's castle at Disneyland California, Ashley Idema and Ty Junemann began planning their dream Disney-themed wedding. A great deal of the big day was framed with a traditional style, but Ashley wanted the centrepieces to be entirely DIY and Disney-themed.

She handcrafted them to be based on a different Disney movie for each of the tables at the reception, in honour of where the couple started their engagement.

"The head table featured a miniature version of Sleeping Beauty's castle to commemorate the spot where Ty proposed" Dawn Browne, the couple's wedding photographer, told Country Living.

The themes for each table included Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, and Beauty and the Beast. Every table's item featured key pieces from the films like the teapots and rose from Beauty and the Beast, the poison apples from Snow White, and lanterns from Aladdin.

While it can't have been easy nailing all these tiny details, the wedding seemed to go down a storm. Dawn explained: "The guests loved it and spent part of their evening wandering around to each table. It was definitely a great way to get the guests mingling!"

The cake, too, was designed in a Disney style - it was topped with characters that replicated Carl and Ellie's chairs from the Disney movie Up. You can see some photos of the centrepieces below, and check out more of Dawn's photos here - she's also taken part in a Mamma Mia wedding, an Eiffel Tower elopement, and a Peter Pan-themed "Neverland elopement".
