Tom Hanks has debuted an "interesting" new haircut for one of his latest films - and it's safe to say he's really not a fan.

The 64-year-old actor showed off his bald new bonce on the Graham Norton Show, and said he finds the snooker-ball look "horrible".

Speaking chat-show host Graham via video link, Tom took off his cap to explain just how far he's committed to play Thomas Andrew "Colonel Tom" Parker in Baz Lurhmann's hotly-anticipated biopic of Elvis - due for release next year.

"Let me show you the horrible I have to have in order to portray Colonel Tom Parker," he said before whipping off his cap.

"Can you see that? Look at that thing!"

Quickly putting his cap back on, Tom joked: "I just scared the children. I want to apologise."

Tom is currently out filming the flick in Australia, which sees Austin Butler star as the King himself.

Filming on the biopic was paused earlier this year after the coronavirus pandemic shut down production on a number of movies and programmes across the world.

Both Tom, and his wife Rita Wilson, caught Covid-19 while initially out in Australia, and were hospitalised while their conditions were monitored.

"Our discomfort because of the virus was pretty much done in two weeks and we had very different reactions, and that was odd," he told The Guardian.

"My wife lost her sense of taste and smell, she had severe nausea, she had a much higher fever than I did.

"I just had crippling body aches, I was very fatigued all the time and I couldn't concentrate on anything for more than about 12 minutes."

He continued: "As long as our temperatures did not spike, and our lungs did not fill up with something that looked like pneumonia, they [doctors] were not worried.

"I'm not one who wakes up in the morning wondering if I'm going to see the end of the day or not. I'm pretty calm about that."
