EXCLUSIVE: Celebs Go Dating Star Tallia Storm Speaks Female Empowerment On International Women's Day

EXCLUSIVE: Celebs Go Dating Star Tallia Storm Speaks Female Empowerment On International Women's Day

One thing that was quite clear on the latest series of Celebs Go Dating was that songstress Tallia Storm was not willing to settle for anyone less than 'the one'.

The fierce 19-year-old flipped the E4 show's format on its head when she decided to bin off her date Teddy in Cape Verde, and attend the final party alone. Girl power or what?

Scottish native Tallia hit all of us strong, independent women with the feels when she said she'd rather attend the party alone than settle for someone who she didn't feel a connection with, and she earned some pretty major respect for her bold move.

Speaking exclusively to PRETTY52, Tallia has now confessed that it is the 'most empowering thing she's ever done'.

She told us: "It was honestly like the most empowering thing I have ever done because it was like I'm not going to feel pressured to hang out with this date just because I need to take a date to the party - I'd rather just go on my own.

"It wouldn't be fair to myself pretending to the world that he's Mr Right just for the sake of TV like that's not the type of person I am. Yeah, it was just really empowering."

As millions of women all over the world celebrate International Women's Day, Tallia tells us exactly what female empowerment means to her.

"To me, it means not standing for any rubbish. It means trusting your gut, following your instinct, believing in yourself and just being strong enough to actually say no in some circumstances.

"It means being strong enough in some circumstances to say 'actually no, I don't need a man,' and to accept that we are strong enough on our own, we are powerful enough, we can achieve stuff without having the clutch of a man."

Tallia goes on to explain how just because she knows she doesn't need a man, doesn't mean that she won't want have one in the future.

She said: "I will be getting married one day and I will be settling down, I'm just saying don't feel pressured to feel like you need to just be with a man for the circumstance you're in or because you feel like you need a crutch.

"If you fall in love then go for it, but if he's not the one then don't settle."

YES GIRL.
