Prince Harry introduced Meghan Markle to the war widow who stole a kiss from him once in 2015 and again in 2017, during their trip to Sydney.

Daphne Dunne, 98, caught Harry's attention when she waited in the pouring rain to meet him, while wearing her late husband's Victoria Cross.

When Harry bent to ask her about the cross, she stole a kiss from him and today the pair were reunited for a second time.

Daphne was introduced to the Duchess of Sussex, who clasped her hands and told her she'd heard 'many good things' about her.

The 98-year-old was excitedly waiting to greet the couple - who announced earlier this week that they're expecting their first child, with a bouquet of flowers outside the Sydney Opera House.

Harry and Meghan have just embarked on their 16-day Commonwealth tour, which will also take them to New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

Today is the first full day of the tour, starting with a trip toTaronga Zoo, followed by a reception at the grand Admiralty House, where Harry was reunited with Daphne.

"How are you? I'm going to get my wife to come over to say hello," Harry told her before introducing Meghan.

"Oh my goodness, is this Daphne? I'm so happy to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you," she said, adding: "All good things."

Daphne replied: "It's wonderful, the two of you," before congratulating them and telling Meghan: "It's just what Harry needs.

"He will be a marvelous dad. He won't let anything stand in his way and he will be so gentle and loving."

During which, Harry noticed something different about Daphne's appearance, asking her: "Have you dyed your hair a shade of pink?" to which she responded: "Yes."

The war widow then lifted up the flowers and handed them to the couple, prompting Meghan to thank her, adding: "Hopefully next time we see you, we'll have a little one with us."

Speaking of Meghan after their meet, Daphne told AAP: "She said she had heard all about me, she's so beautiful."
