Kate Garraway has revealed the rather unusual way she's managed to keep the spark alive with her husband of 14 years.

The 51-year-old once undertook a two-week challenge which saw her and husband Derek Draper have sex every single day - and she even kept a spreadsheet to keep track of what went on under the sheets.

The Good Morning Britain presenter made the surprising confession in her book The Joy of Big Knickers, and in an interview this week she revealed how it's helped to keep the spark alive.

"When you've been in a relationship for a long time, the physical side of things can be very unspontaneous," Kate explained to The Sun. "So, the idea is to schedule sex and force yourself to do it once a day and make it the focus of your diary."

She continued: "We got very organised, and we created this space for intimacy."

The 51-year-old has always spoken candidly about her sex life, and has previously revealed it continues to get better as she ages.

"When you're younger you want to be impressive, but when you get older, I think there's a different kind of intimacy," she explained.

"For women, sex only gets better as you get older I think."

Kate even revealed she's not afraid of the menopause which "used to signify the end" because "women didn't life much longer afterwards."

However, she added: "Now we're in a whole new era and it's an exciting time. there are actually lots of studies that show the menopause is a great thing and it rewires the brain in a positive way."

While there has been rumours Kate could be heading down under later this year to take part in I'm A Celebrity, she has denied it, insisting: "They haven't asked me. I hate spiders and heights and I'm not good when I'm hungry, so that means they will probably ask me."
