Ed Sheeran has just announced a huge international tour that will take him throughout the UK and Europe, following on from his already sold-out South Africa stadium tour in March.

Running throughout May, June, July and August 2019, the newly-announced dates will take in France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Romania, Czech Republic, Latvia, Russia, Finland, Denmark, Hungary and Iceland, before culminating in the UK with two special sets of homecoming shows.

General sale commences at 10am BST on Thursday 27 September for all dates.

Announcing the news on Instagram, he wrote: "Playing some more dates in the UK & Europe next year, tickets on sale next Thursday 27th Sept. Check edsheeran.com for info."

Sheeran is currently on the North American leg of his global Divide stadium tour. On this summer's UK run, he played to over 1.1 million people - including four nights at London's Wembley Stadium, marking the biggest-ever solo tour [without a band] that the UK has ever seen.

He was also awarded a MBE for his services to music and charity at the end of 2017, and has won countless awards throughout his career, including four Grammys, four Ivor Novellos, five BRIT awards, six Billboard awards and many, many more.

The first takes place at Roundhay Park in Leeds, West Yorkshire, on 16 and 17 August, before he rounds things off at Chantry Park in Ipswich, Suffolk, on 23 and 24 August.
