Drake has revealed that he has had to postpone some of his tour dates in Miami due to being seriously ill.

The rapper posted a statement on Instagram, telling fans that he 'got ill so fast', and had to receive round the clock care.

Drake and Migos were supposed to perform on the 21st and 22nd September, however fans were told that the shows would be postponed to the 13th and 14th November.

Posting on Instagram, Drake wrote: "I just wanted to say how sorry I am about these two Miami shows.

"I got so ill so fast and I had never experienced anything like that in my life. Unlike other show cancellations or date adjustments due to production issues this one fell on me and I just want to apologize because I hate letting down anyone who come to 2share these moments with us.

"Thank you to the two doctors and nurse that helped me with round the clock care. Miami deserves 100 percent and I promise that experience when we return.

"Thank you god for allowing me to recover and continue on we go!"

Before Drake released his statement, fans were understandably upset after only finding out about the cancellations on the day of the show.

The cancellation was rumoured to be due to 'production issues' after previous problems saw the tour postponed from July to September due to the its ambitious stage design.

One Twitter user wrote: "I can't decide if I'm extremely annoyed that I have to pay to come back to Miami because the Drake/Migos concert was postponed.. or if im excited that I'll be back in miami in a month & a half [sic]."

Another added: "Drake and the Migos tour has to be one of the worst run recent history. They never need to hit the road together again [sic]."

A third wrote: "I'm not in Miami but I'm pissed they postponed Drake and Migos. Smh [sic]."

The postponing of the tour comes after Kanye West called Drake out on social media after a conspiracy theory went viral about Kim Kardashian being Drake's Kiki.

Kim laughed off the rumours and Drake stayed completely silent, with Nick Cannon later joking that the whole thing could be true.

But Kanye took to Instagram to share a string of explicit videos telling them to stop talking about his marriage.
