It's no secret that going on Love Island comes with its perks. The instant fame, the fans, the sponsored posts and the incredible job opportunities... but as we've seen time and time again, there's also a much less glamorous side.
After you've been on a dating show, the world is invested in your love life. Like, really invested. And nobody knows this better than 2018 winner Dani Dyer, who caught up with Tyla this week.

When she left the show victorious with co-star Jack Fincham, the whole country had eyes on their relationship - from their subsequent spin-off TV show, to when they moved in together to the moment they eventually split up.
But when she moved on with new boyfriend Sammy Kimmence in April, Dani had to face the same level of scrutiny all over again, despite the fact that her new boyfriend wasn't from the world of reality TV and had never asked to be.
Now, the TV star - who is set to make her presenting debut on MTV dating show True Love Or True Lies - has spoken about how she dealt with this backlash for the first time in an exclusive interview.

Addressing how people wrongly accused her of having dated Sammy before she'd met Jack, trolled his appearance mercilessly and attacked her for moving on, Dani admitted that at first the reception to her new romance was pretty rough.
"We actually weren't ever boyfriend and girlfriend before, so I don't know where that came from," she told us.
"We knew each other, had a little fling, but it was never really that serious. I knew of him for a few years through a friend, so this time when we got together it was actually the real deal".
On dealing with all the false speculation, she conceded: "Everything you do is judged when you're famous. At first, initially, when people have their opinions on your relationship it hurts you, but as long as me and him are happy then that's all I care about".

When asked if she consciously chose to keep her relationship with stockbroker Sammy out of the spotlight following previous media attention in her love life, she added: "Oh, 100 per cent. All I've ever wanted is a nice private relationship."
She went on: "I don't want to tell everyone what he's had for breakfast or film him on a running machine, I just don't really care. I just think we know what we've got and we haven't got to parade it. It's boring".
While Dani still receives unwanted opinions from time-to-time, she fiercely added that she was determined not to let them affect her.
"When I came out of Love Island I was hit with all of these opinions, but I'm cool now....," she said. "Now, I just don't care what anybody else thinks. He's lovely. Everything's going great. We're like best friends, and I think that's just the key to a relationship."

It's not just Dani's love life that comes under scrutiny, and, much like Little Mix star Jesy Nelson - who recently released a heartbreaking and shocking documentary on the cruel treatment she'd received online - she told Tyla that unfortunately she still receives more than her fair share of nasty comments as a result of her fame.
"I think everyone in the industry goes through it," she mused. "Sadly, I don't think things are going to change any time soon. [People judge] what you wear, what you look like, the things you do.
"Not everyone's going to love you and that can be really rough to deal with. There are people out there that just aren't going to like you."

Putting a positive spin on the situation, she quipped: "Some people like beetroot, some people don't, you know?
"I don't think press interest will ever get easy. I've sort of just dealt with it really. I'm over it now. I've learnt to realise the storm will pass. I've got good friends, good family, and that's all that matters.
"There's highs and there's lows, but at the moment I'm on a good high".
