CBB's Jess Impiazzi's Double Family Heartbreak Has Been Revealed
Before Celebrity Big Brother, we knew Jess Impiazzi for her modelling career and for her previous stints on MTV's Ex On The Beach, so it would be easy to imagine that she has always lived the glamorous life.
However, it turns out that life hasn't always been easy for the 28-year-old, as she suffered double family heartbreak as a teen.
Poor Jess had a hard time of it when she was younger, when she was forced to drop out of drama school at the tender age of 18 to help support her mum after she sadly lost her sight.
Jess' mum, Debbie, told new!: "I lost my sight 10 years ago and she's been a great help to me.
"It was very sad at the time because she was studying at the Italia Conti Academy Of Theatre Arts when I started to lose my sight and dropped out to help me."
It turns out that shortly after Debbie, who has Uveal Effusion Syndrome, lost her sight, the family suffered another blow when Jess' nephew died of meningitis at just 13 months old. Heartbreaking.
Debbie added: "We also lost my grandson, Jess's nephew, from meningitis at 13 months.
"There was a lot of sadness in our family at this point and Jessica suffered."
Clearly impacted by the events, Jess and her mum Debbie are said to be "very, very close," speaking up to five times a day.
As a result of her mum's blindness, Jess has since lobbied British Parliament on behalf of those who are discriminated against for using a guide dog.
Upon entering the Big Brother house, Jess was granted immunity from the first eviction, alongside Amanda Barrie, after they managed to be the first pair to fix a broken circuit board.
Good going girls.
