Anna Faris is here to prove exes don't have to bitter, as the actress has just jokingly offered to officiate Chris Pratt's wedding to Katherine Schwarzenegger after the couple announce their engagement at the weekend.

The House Bunny revealed that her ex-husband of nine years text her to let her know that he'd got down on one knee - and she had the best response.

Speaking on the most recent episode of her podcast, Anna recalled: "Chris texted me this morning and he was like, 'I proposed to Katherine last night'. And I was like, 'Ahh, that's amazing'."

Anna and Chris finalised their divorce last year, citing 'irreconcilable differences'.

She continued: "And I texted him back like, 'I just wanted to remind you I'm an ordained minister'. I'm so happy for them."

The actress then added: "I knew that it was going to happen. I love her, and I love him, and I'm just so happy that they found each other. The truth is there isn't any bitterness and I'm just so happy we're all really happy."

Anna, who shares a six-year-old son with Guardians of the Galaxy actor, has already publicly congratulated Chris and American author Katherine on their engagement news.

Chris announced that he'd popped the question with a loved-up Instagram post shared on Sunday, and as comments flooded in from well-wishers, another emerged from his ex-wife.

Anna congratulated the couple on their engagement.

"I'm so happy for you both!!" the actress wrote underneath the engagement picture. "Congratulations!"

After reportedly trying to make things work for 'quite some time', Anna and Chris announced they were separating in August 2017 and their divorce was finalised last year.

As Anna and Chris announced their separation in similar statements, they both declared: "We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."

And it seems like both parties have stayed true to their original statement.

In April, Chris told Entertainment Weekly: "Divorce sucks. But at the end of the day, we've got a great kid who's got two parents who love him very much.

"And we're finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another. It's not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better."

It's not just Chris who's all loved-up either, as Anna has started dating filmmaker Michael Barrett since her divorce.
