Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has announced the release of new book, Midnight Sun.
Speaking on Good Morning America on Monday, the author said: "I am very excited to finally, finally announce the release of Midnight Sun on Saturday 4th August.
"It's a crazy time right now and I wasn't sure it was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so so long it didn't seem right to make you wait any more."
The news comes after the author posted a countdown timer on her website earlier this month, with fans predicting something *huge* was on the way.

After confirming the news this week, fans of the vampire franchise were predictably sent into meltdown.
The new book in the Twilight series is written from Edward Cullen's perspective instead of protagonist, Bella Swan. Stephenie stopped writing the book in 2008 after 12 chapters were leaked.
She did, however, post a partial draft for fans to read online, but never announced a release date until now. Ever since, fans have been desperate for the book to be released in full.
Since the first Twilight book was released in 2005, Stephenie's work shot to fame, with the author going on to release a further three - New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

The books sold over 100 million copies worldwide and were also adapted into films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, with Breaking Dawn being split into two parts.
The end of the Breaking Dawn book (played out in the movie, Breaking Dawn: Part Two) sees the Volturi go after the Cullens because they believe Renesmee (Bella and Edward's daughter) is an immortal child.
Alice and Jasper try to prove Renesmee isn't a threat by presenting the Volturi with a 150-year-old half vampire half human, Nahuel.

The Volturi agree to back down, however in the film version, Alice shares one of her visions with Volturi leader, Aro which sees a dramatic and bloody battle between the Cullens and the Volturi.
Aro realised the Volturi will not win, and backs down before the vision can play out for real.
One of the most successful film sagas of all time, the movies grossed $3.3 billion (£2.6 billion) in ticket sales.
It was during filming that Kristen and Robert struck up a friendship which eventually led to them dating for around three years. The pair split in 2012 after Kristen reportedly cheated with Rupert Sanders, on the set of Snow White and the Hunstman.

It's believed the pair tried to make things work before Rob was seen moving out of the house they shared together in 2013.
While Kristen is now believed to be dating screenwriter Dylan Meyer - following her on-off relationship with Stella Maxwell - Rob is believed to be dating actress Suki Waterhouse, although they keep their relationship very private.
The new Twilight book will be released on 4th August 2020. The countdown is officially on...
