Professional boxer Harley Benn is next on the list of rumoured cast members for Love Island season 7.

He could be joining Holly Ramsay, Lucy Plunkett, Lucinda Strafford, Aimee-Rose Francis, Toluwa Adepeju, Alexis Bailey, Zack Chugg, James Price, Alisha LeMay, Ellis Iyayi and Jay Munro in the villa this year.

The 24-year-old comes from a boxing family and "gets loads of attention from the girls," a Love Island source told The Sun.

"He's had video meetings with the casting team and everyone is very excited at the prospect of having him on the show," the source added. But nothing has been confirmed by ITV2 yet.

Let's have a closer look at this potential new Islander.

Harley Benn is the son of middleweight champion, Nigel Benn

Like former Love Island star Tommy Fury, Harley comes from a boxing family. His dad, Nigel Benn, is a former middleweight world champion.

Harley has been a professional boxer since 2017 and is a super welterweight - meaning he's at least 70kg. Heavyweight boxers are anything over 90kg.

His last match was against welterweight pro boxer Dylan Draper in February 2020. Harley won this fight, making his current record nine bouts and just one defeat.

He was conceived during a one-night stand

Harley Benn was actually the "secret son" of Nigel Benn who, at age 57, conceived Harley with Lisa Andrews while going through IVF treatment with his wife, Carolyne Jackson.

Nigel refused to accept that Harley was his son until a paternity test proved it, according to The Sun

He's a dog lover

When it comes to boxing Harley might be tough as nails. But he's a bit of a softy when it comes to his canine companion, King, the American Bulldog - and we can't blame him for that.

Harley and King are regularly snapped on walks together or cuddling up on the sofa. Cute!

He's a mommy's boy

Harley regularly posts photos with his mum, Lisa Andrews, on his Instagram. It's clear Harley is very close to his mum and his younger half-sister, Leyla.

Writing in one of his posts, the boxer said: "Who got you like your mum got you?" He's not wrong there. In another he wrote: "My mum is my right-hand man."

Lisa has been there at the side of the boxing ring, commenting with love hearts on her son's posts (to which he reciprocates) and is gleaming with pride in every photo.

It's clear these two have an unbreakable bond - and for that reason, Lisa isn't likely to go easy on the girl who partners up with her precious son in the Love Island villa this summer when it's time to meet the parents.

He'll drive you to a date in style

Harley clearly does well doing what he does and he likes to celebrate that with nice cars. So the lucky girl who partners up with this pro boxer can guarantee she'll be driven to a date in motor luxury.

Harley has posted pictures of himself driving a top Range Rover, a Mercedes, and an Audi. No doubt King has a special doggy seatbelt in all of them as well.

Love Island comes to ITV2 on Monday 28th June at 9pm.
