Lorraine forced to apologise as This Morning's Dermot O'Leary calls out tech issue

Presenter Lorraine Kelly faced a technical disruption on her show which This Morning host Dermot O'Leary couldn't help but poke fun at.

It takes me back to the days at school where you'd have to present a PowerPoint, but would spend an awkward few minutes fiddling around with your memory stick, unable to get the projector screen to work, restless faces staring at you as your palms go sweaty in panic.

Technology is certainly not my forte, but on this morning's (Tuesday, 11 July) instalment of Lorraine Kelly's programme, the presenter had little control over the technical difficulty that occurred during the fashion segment.

With model Vogue Williams joining the host live on air to weigh in on the 'best summer dresses with pockets', a model began to flaunt the latest fits down the studio's catwalk.

However, as she strutted her stuff in a dress from Next, the large screen behind her appeared to glitch.

The woodland background quickly flickered off and then continued to glitch on and off, flashing between the background and the programme's logo.

Lorraine quickly apologised to viewers, noting: "Sorry, the walls gone funny. I hope it's not affecting your eyes.

"Sorry about that."

Alas, This Morning presenter Dermot O'Leary didn't let Lorraine get away with the technical glitch that easily.

Lorraine was handing over to her ITV colleagues, with This Morning starting after Lorraine wrapped up at 10am.

O'Leary jibed: "What's up with that wonky screen of yours there, Lorraine?"

"What's going on Lorraine," co-presenter Alison Hammond chimed in.

"I know, I know, I'll give it a thump," Lorraine responded.

O'Leary continued: "Pay the electricity bill, Kelly. For God's sake."

O'Leary and Hammond made the jokes appearing via video link.

The pair took over hosting duties on This Morning after Philip Schofield stepped down from his position on the show amid news of his affair with an ITV colleague.

Addressing Schofield's departure, Hammond said: "I love Phillip Schofield and it's weird because I still love Phillip Schofield.

"However what he has done is wrong. He's said sorry, but as a family we're all really struggling to process everything. I never know what to say.

"I remember what my mum said - my mum always said, use your Bible as your Sat Nav in life, Al. In the Bible it says, 'He without sin can pass the first stone'.

"I just don't want to say anything bad, because obviously I'm in conflict, that's how I feel."
