BRIT Awards 2022: Idris Elba Has Wardrobe Malfunction On Stage

BRIT Awards 2022: Idris Elba Has Wardrobe Malfunction On Stage

Oh, Idris...

Idris Elba suffered a rather embarrassing wardrobe malfunction at the BRIT Awards on Tuesday night, and viewers did not let him off easy.

The award-winning actor strutted out on stage in a pink Gucci jacket, blacked-out sunglasses, and black trousers to announce the nominees for Mastercard Album of the Year (spoiler: Adele won!).

Unfortunately, the bright pink bomber coat was not enough to distract from Idris' zipper.

Watch below:

The Luther star tried to get the crowd going by announcing that they had won "audience of the year", but little did he know that all the while, he was flying low.

After Adele joined Idris on stage to accept her award she gave the actor a hug, and we suspect she alerted Idris to his zipper situation.

As Adele gave her acceptance speech, the actor took a step back, covering his crotch with his queue cards. Nice save, Idris.

Viewers were quick to spot the blunder, and swiftly took to Twitter to discuss.

"Idris Elba’s flies being undone was one of the highlights of the brits," tweeted one fan.

A second commented: "not idris elba’s fly being undone #brits."

"Idris Elba’s flying low, pass it on" joked a third.

One viewer tagged the BRIT Awards social team to tell them: "@BRITs someone needs to tell Idris Elba to close the front door."

You can't get away with anything on telly!

Thankfully for Idris, many quickly forgot about his botched zipper when Anne-Marie took to the stage to perform with KSI and Digital Farm Animals.

Following in the footsteps of pop idol Madonna, who famously fell down a set of stairs during the 2015 BRIT Awards, Anne-Marie took a tumble during her performance.

Fans congratulated Anne-Marie for carrying on with her performance (

While fans congratulated Anne-Marie on carrying on with her performance, the singer took to Twitter afterwards to address the fall.
