Speaking about their loss, Chrissy opened up to Scary Mommy about their experience. During the chat, she explained how the family honour Jack by bringing along his ashes on family trips.

Speaking about her children - five-year-old Luna and three year-old Miles - Chrissy explained: “Whether we go on a vacation or something, they always say, ‘Don’t forget baby Jack.’ And then I have to pack him up.

“And then we get to where we’re going, they’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, he must be thirsty.’ This might sound crazy to people, but they’ll put a little glass of water next to his little box of ashes. And they really love being a part of it.”

Chrissy and John sadly lost Jack last year at 20 weeks. Chrissy has since opened up about the pain of losing her baby, and penned a heartbreaking essay not long after Jack passed away.

Sharing screenshots of the piece, which she wrote for Medium, Chrissy explained: "I didn't know how to come back to real life so I wrote this piece for Medium with hopes that I can somehow move on but as soon as I posted it, tears flew out because it felt so.... final. I don't want to ever not remember Jack."

Chrissy also recalled the moment she was told to say goodbye. "Late one night, I was told it would be time to let go in the morning," she wrote.

"I cried a little at first, then went into full blown convulsions of snot and tears, my breath not able to catch up with my own incredibly deep sadness."

Chrissy has since urged others going through a loss to speak out and not suffer in silence (

Chrissy has since urged others going through a loss to speak out and not suffer in silence.

"There was one moment that really struck me, and that was being at the grocery store and somebody just quietly laying flowers in my cart," she told Today.

"And then I realised that there's so many women that don't get this kind of attention because you just don't know that it happened to them.

"They're living through this privately and quietly, and it just was a big moment for me where I realised that I could be this person that people could see and look up to as somebody that had a platform, where their stories were going to be recognised. For me, that was a very defining moment."
