Chris Rock Responds To Will Smith Oscars Slap During Show

Chris Rock addressed the Oscars altercation in his latest performance.

Comedian Chris Rock has not been shying away from the public following the Oscars slap, returning to his comedy tour he has performed in Boston on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Wednesday's show (30th March) marked his first public appearance since the Oscars.

He told the crowd that he was "still processing what happened."

The comedian also quashed rumours that he and Will Smith have since made amends, saying: "I haven't talked to anyone, despite what you heard."

According to People, at some point in the show members of the crowd began chanting "Will Smith."

The comedian, however, did not engage with these chants.

Thursday's show (31st March) opened much the same way with the Madagascar star addressing the events of the weekend.

He was then met with an audience member yelling "f*ck Will Smith!"

This time, Chris shut down the fan immediately replying with "No, no, no, no, no..."

At neither show did he mention Will Smith by name, but references to the weekend seem to have been about the actor.

While presenting the award for Best Documentary Feature at the 2022 Oscar ceremony, Chris cracked a few jokes, including one about actress Jada Pinkett-Smith.

Referencing the actresses' shaved head - which is due to her suffering from alopecia - the comedian compared her appearance to that of G.I. Jane.

Jada was visibly unamused by the joke. This then took something of a strange turn when Will got onstage and approached the comedian.

Audiences at the Dolby Theatre, and those watching at home, were left shocked when Will then slapped Chris.

Returning to his seat, the King Richard star proceeding to shout back "Keep my wife's name out of your f*cking mouth."

Less than half an hour later, the actor then won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role - a win that seems to have been overshadowed by the actor's outburst.
