Amber Heard Responds To Rumours She's Been 'Cut' From Aquaman 2

Amber Heard has responded to rumours that her role in Aquaman 2 was cut after she was sued by her ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Amber Heard has responded to rumours that her role in Aquaman 2 was cut after she was sued by her ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Following the high-profile defamation trial, a petition was started to remove her from the sequel, but she has slammed rumours that it was successful.

A spokesperson for the actress told TMZ: "The rumour mill continues as it has from Day One - inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane."

The news outlet reported that the scenes – which were filmed over a year ago – earned Heard a £1.66 ($2) million paycheque.

At the time of writing, the petition to remove Heard from the film has over 4.6 million signatures and that number is growing by the minute.

The petition, which is addressed to Aquaman creators Warner Bros. reads: “Amber Heard has been exposed as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp.

"Since Heard's divorce from Johnny Depp, she has systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood.

“As Amber Heard is a known and proven domestic abuser, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment should and must remove Heard from their Aquaman 2 film project.

“They must not ignore the suffering of Heard's victims, and must not glamourise a domestic abuser.”

Heard responded to the rumours after celebrity gossip site Just Jared reported that her scenes were being re-filmed.

“Warner Bros. decided to recast Amber Heard‘s role after screen testing the movie,” it was alleged.

“They are going to be doing reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman.”

News of the actress allegedly being cut from the film comes after Heard insisted that she told ‘the truth’ during the defamation trial over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post.

She told NBC: “To my dying day, I’ll stand by every word of my testimony.”

“It’s a freedom to speak truth to power, and that’s all I spoke. I spoke it to power and I paid the price.”

Heard then referred to Depp’s defamation trial in the UK, which he lost, and said: “There was another trial that dealt with the same substantive issues and had even more evidence in. In fact, my evidence was largely kept out.”

In her opinion, he was successful in the US because: “His lawyers did a better job at distracting the jury from the real issues.”

Tyla has reached out to Warner Brothers for comment on the allegations.
