Male Student's Facebook Post About Period Shame Has Gone Viral
Periods are one of the most natural occurrences, so the fact that some women and girls still find themselves feeling embarrassed makes us here at Pretty 52 feel pretty upset.
There is absolutely nothing to feel ashamed about, and that is exactly the message which one man- you may be surprised to hear- wanted to communicated.
Chance Ward, a student at California's Occidental College, was at the gym when a woman who was training next to him asked her friend if she had a spare tampon.
The woman then realised that Chance had overheard her request and quickly apologised, something which the student, like us, found rather sad.
So, being the wonderful human that he is, Chance pulled a tampon out of the bum bag that he was wearing, carrying them in need of any female emergencies, and handed it to the woman who was naturally rather taken aback He wrote:
This is so sad. Why don't y'all love y'all friends that menstruate? Like men will make whole guest rooms in their house just in case someone needs to stay. But god forbid that person menstruate, because I bet you won't be no extra pads or tampons under that guest bathroom sink.
Like why? Y'all know literally like half this world goes through this?
Ugh anyway to all my menstruating friends, if y'all need it, know I got it. I keep some in my fanny pack when I go to the gym, and some in my backpack all the time. Never feel embarrassed for asking for one. Never feel embarrassed for being human.
@everyone who doesn't menstruate: keep your menstruating friends in mind and stop being so shitty.
The world needs more men like Chance!
