Meet Louis, The Feline Being Compared To The Late Grump Cat

The Persian cat looks permanently peed off...

This month, we sadly lost Grumpy Cat, the feline with a permanently angry expression who became a viral sensation. Her death left us with a hole in our hearts, one that we fear can never be replaced.

However, if looking for another upside-down smile to soothe your sadness, we suggest you look to Louis the cat. The six-year-old Persian boasts an expression that's equally as peed off - and it's hilarious.

Louis, from Austin, Texas, has white and ginger fur, with huge brown eyes and a permanent upturned smile.

His owner, Michelle Alexis, 26, said: "Louis is a full breed Persian but people often ask if he has a genetic disorder because they think his facial features are an exception, but he is completely normal.

"People usually react saying he looks like a human old man! They love his big 'marble eyes' that he squints often."

Michelle explained that a possible reason for his permanently-enraged face might be to do with his love-hate relationship with Monae, the Lynx Point Siamese cat who he shares a home with.

She says: "When we got Monae she was a baby and Louis was a full grown cat, and yet she bullied him for two months straight.

"She even tackles and picks at him, but really she loves him."

Michelle added: "Louis is now referred to as the 'new Grumpy Cat', but he is actually very sweet, happy and playful.

"He loves to snuggle and give head rubs, he will chase lasers and play with toys."

We can't wait to get to know this furry one further.

Louis' introduction follows the sad passing of Grumpy Cat, real name Tardar Sauce. In a tweet titled 'some days are grumpier than others', the owners of the mixed-breed confirmed the sad news on 17th May, 2019.

They explained that Grumpy had developed complications from a recent UTI, which became too "tough for her to overcome", with the cat passing away peacefully at home.

"We are unimaginably heartbroken to announce the loss of our beloved Grumpy Cat," shared the Bundesen family on Twitter.

Explaining the passing of the beloved cat, they added: "Despite care from top professionals, as well as from her very loving family, Grumpy encountered complications from a recent urinary tract infection that unfortunately became too tough for her to overcome."

The statement continued: "She passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, May 14, at home in the arms of her mommy, Tabatha.

"Besides being our baby and a cherished member of the family, Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile around the world - even when times were tough."

It concluded: "Her spirit will continue to live on through her fans everywhere," and the post was signed off by Grumpy's family, Tabatha, Bryan and Chrystal.
