One of my friends is known to my boyfriend as 'By The Way, I'm Single' because, for a while, he was infamous for sending me Snapchat captions with the words 'feeling lonely' and 'I wish I had someone to do *X-activity* with me'.

It doesn't take a genius to work out that Snaps like that are a pretty blatant way of saying 'I'm back on the market'. Apparently this guy hadn't heard I'd started dating someone since we last spoke. Sure enough, it wasn't long before a mutual friend revealed that this particular fellow had recently split up with his boyfriend. Could you be any more obvious?

I don't really use Snapchat all that much but from what I have seen of the app, it seems like people do tend to lose all traces of subtlety as soon as they start sending pictures to each other.

And I was glad to learn that it's not just me who's experienced this phenomenon. A blogger named Holly Carpenter has put together a hilarious photo-series revealing what all those 'innocent' Snapchats people send actually mean. Are you guilty of sending any of these?

What's the most blatant sub-text you've ever encountered in a Snapchat?
