This Pancake Recipe Has More Than 10,000 Five Star Reviews Online

It's officially Pancake Day, which means indulging in all the different treats we can possibly throw on a pancake before lent starts tomorrow.

While we could debate all day about whether the best topping is lemon and sugar or golden syrup (or both), the art of making a pancake is fairly simple... right?

Well, it turns out there's several different recipes for making the perfect pancake online, and one of them has received more than 10,000 five star reviews. It doesn't get much better than that.

The Old Fashioned Pancakes was shared on All Recipes UK and Ireland, by Dakota Kelly, who wrote: "This is a great recipe that I found in my Gran's recipe book. Judging from the weathered look of this recipe card, this was a family favourite."

Anyone who fancies giving the recipe a go, needs to grab 200g of flour, one or two teaspoons of baking powder, one teaspoon of salt, one tablespoon of caster sugar, 300ml of milk, one egg and 50g of butter, melted.

The recipe, which should take 20 minutes in total, starts with: "In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the centre and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth."

After that, Dakota says: "Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the pan, using approximately four tablespoons (60ml) for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot."

Now, the difficulty is deciding on the toppings...
