Tesco Is Now Selling Halloumi Fries

Tesco Is Now Selling Halloumi Fries

Halloumi is pretty big right now, which tragically is leading to a global shortage. Still, a lot of people are hopping on the trend, with the Co-Op selling packs of halloumi crisps, Aldi selling halloumi fries, and now Tesco's getting involved.

Tesco always sells halloumi fries at Christmas, but responding to the trend, they've decided to make an addition to their permanent collection.

Posting on Instagram, the user Kevs Snack Reviews drew people's attention to the addition with a post captioned "More new Tesco Foods - Swipe for all!"

In an email, Tesco said: "The halloumi fries were originally released for Christmas last year, and now have been repackaged to add to the permanent range at Tesco".

The fries are sold out online, potentially due to the shortage, but the description reads: "Pieces of halloumi medium fat hard cheese made with pasteurised cow's, sheep's and goat's milk, coated in breadcrumb. Halloumi pieces coated in a golden breadcrumb for a crisp finish".

They come in packs of eight and only need to be cooked for 10-12 minutes from chilled to fully enjoy these sticks of breaded perfection.

While the product is fully sold out online, hopefully they're still available instore - judging by Kev's post, they're still out and about.

You can check out the product page and see whether they're back in stock anytime soon here. There was massive outcry when they stopped selling them after Christmas, with someone tweeting "@Tesco! You've stopped selling halloumi fries now Christmas is over!!! Why would you do that?!?! Halloumi fries are for life, not just for Christmas."

Luckily Tesco heard that upset Tweeter's call - let's hope he got in to buy a pack.
