Smirnoff Just Launched A New Fruit Vodka For Bank Holiday

There's our bank holiday weekend drink sorted...

it's the first Bank Holiday of the year today, and between friends and family plans, the likelihood is that most of us will be enjoying a drink or two.

Well we need a reward for making it through the first few months of the year, don't we?

Well if you're after a new tipple to present to your friends this long weekend, look to Smirnoff's new 'Infusions' range.

Smirnoff

The new range includes two flavours: orange, grapefruit and bitters, and raspberry, rhubarb and vanilla. Perfect for spring, we think.

The flavoured spirits are contain 23 per cent alcohol, compared to 40 per cent in Smirnoff's Red Label vodka, and are designed to be mixed with soda water for the perfect fizzy tipple.

Smirnoff marketing manager for Europe Sarah Shimmons said the process of making the drinks "sees real fruits infused and distilled individually for the perfect amount of time to allow their natural flavours to be extracted".

She added: "The resulting spirit drink is blended with Smirnoff No. 21 vodka and crafted at 23% abv, to ensure the perfect balance of natural and fruity flavours at the heart of the liquid, with good spirit cut-through."

Smirnoff already sells flavoured vodkas, Smirnoff Vanilla and Smirnoff Raspberry, which contain 37.5 per cent alcohol, so the Infusions range makes a good alternative for those watching their intake.

The spirits are set to retails for £14 in Tesco, that's £2 more than the 500ml Smirnoff Red Label bottle - but hey, you don't get those infused real fruits for free.

Last year, Smirnoff jumped on the summer can hype by releasing its canned Raspberry Rosé Spiked Sparkling Seltzer and we're praying they're rolled out again this year.

In the mean time, it would be rude not to try the Infusions range in every flavour, right?
