You've probably found out that mixing drinks is never a good idea. And the pounding head, feeling of impending doom and smell of sick in your hair means you probably won't be making that mistake again. But what if you mixed them then added chocolate to the mix? Gin lovers, prosecco fans and chocoholics rejoice: this 'Ginsecco' egg is here to break Lent with a bang.
On shelves from Tuesday, 19th March, Lidl is launching a show-stopping Deluxe Golden Sculpture egg that contains both gin and prosecco with chocolate - and it's a feast for the eyes as well as your taste buds.
A first for UK supermarkets, the sculptural and scrummy egg costs a modest £12.99 - which is a snip when you think of all its delicious ingredients and how beautiful it's going to look for the ten seconds before you crack into it.
The main 'egg' is made from solid Belgian milk chocolate and adorned with gold swirls and three golden 'Ginsecco' eggs nestled in the hollowed out centre. Yum.
The golden eggs are where the prosecco, gin and chocolate combine in a creamy, boozy ganache centre.
The egg was inspired by the UK's two favourite tipples combined: ginsecco.
It might sound like (and be) a cocktail recipe for a hangover but the boozy hybrid has actually been dubbed to be one of 2019's upcoming drinks trends, according to Urban Spirit.
For those who care about ethics as they eat, just like all Lidl's own brand chocolate, the Deluxe Golden Sculpture Egg is certified UTZ, which stands for sustainable farming. Translation: customers can eat assured their Easter treats are ethically sourced.
