KFC's Most Successful Sandwich Ever Is Coming To The UK And It's Filthy
The bacon sandwich is without any shadow of a doubt one of man's greatest achievements. So, if you were going to try and upgrade it, you'd probably have a pretty tough time. After all, how do you improve on perfection?
Well, KFC has an idea and for the first time ever, it's bringing it to the UK.
Yes, brace yourself, fried chicken fanatics, because this is going to make you weak at the knees.
One of the most hyped sandwiches in the world of fast food is going to be arriving on British shores for a limited time only - the Double Down.
The sandwich, which consists of bacon, BBQ sauce and US-style cheese, between two fried chicken fillets, has been called 'the most successful sandwich in history', and looking at it, we can see why.
I mean, just watch this old advert... it's enough to turn the strictest vegetarian.
Jack Hinchliffe, Innovation Director at KFC UK & Ireland, said: "There's been so much excitement for the Double Down since it first launched to the US in 2010. It's sold out in every country that it's been released in.
"Fandom has gone wild over the past few years on social media, and we've even had reports of our customers taking things into their own hands by hacking the menu to create the sandwich."
The Double Down has already whipped hungry chicken-lovers up into a frenzy on social media, with many eager for its arrival on the 9th of October.

However, if you want to get your teeth sunk into one you'll have to be swift, as it will only be on sale for six weeks and demand is set to be sky high.
The Double Down breadless burger will be available for £4.79 on its own, or from £5.79 with fries and a drink. For the most successful sandwich in history, we'd say that's a small price to pay.
