Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few weeks you should be aware that Unicorn Hot Chocolate has broken the Internet harder than Kim Kardashian's behind.
2016 was a bit of a mess but here in the P52 office we are dedicated to making 2017 our year and what better way to start that making warming mugs of awesomeness?
This recipe will most certainly not fit in with your diet plan but when it's this good let's be honest... who cares?
- One cup of full fat milk 1/8 of a cup of double cream.
- Eight squares of white chocolate
- Two drops of purple or pink food colouring.
- A can of whipped cream.
- Decorations - to your preference.
Put your milk and cream together in a small saucepan over a hot stove. Slowly warm, stirring continuously until very small bubbles appear on the surface. Now grate your chocolate into the mixture and stir until you are sure it has all melted in. Now add the food colouring. You need to be super careful here as if you just tip even slightly too far you will end up with a really deep colour which you do not want - we need pastels here people!
Carefully decant your milk into your chosen cup or mug. You have two options here. You can either go for a glass latte mug so you can admire your creation to it's full potential or you can choose a wide coffee mug so you can fit on more pretty toppings. The choice is yours. Either way, once your milk is in the glass it is time to grab your whipped cream and adorn the top.
Finally the time has come to decorate. You really can let your inner unicorn out here and grab everything and anything sparkly or pretty you can lay your hands on, (edible of course). There is no limit so go crazy!
Good examples would be Lucky Charms, cake toppers, sprinkles, mini marshmallows, candy canes; you could even throw in a full sized lollipop!
Now sit back, relax and shine girl shine.
