Heinz Launches 'Mayo-Chup' And People Have Things To Say

The condiment company have ripped up the rulebook and merged its two best-sellers...

When presented with a plate of chips, we humans tend to fall into two brackets: ketchup or mayonnaise.

Lovers of both make up a tiny fraction of our condiment-consuming society, and it's these people that Heinz are targeting with its latest invention: 'Mayo-chup'. That's ketchup and mayonnaise mixed together, for anyone lost.

Heinz

Yes, Heinz have gone where no man has gone before and mixed the two table-side favourites - Heinz Ketchup and Heinz Seriously Good Mayonnaise - together in one bottle.

The condiment kingpins first announced it would be bringing 'Mayo-chup' to UK shores after enjoying wild success in the US. However, it's officially being called Heinz Saucy Sauce, as another company in Europe already owns the name (but we all know it's mayo-chup, yeah? Good.)

Stateside, the success of the condiment hybrid was so good that Heinz even brought in 'Mayomust' (mayonnaise and mustard) and 'Mayocue' (mayo and barbecue sauce). The lesson here is that mayonnaise is good mixed with anything.

It's not yet clear if we'll get these two too but we can only hope.

Heinz

For some, it's an abomination, for some it's genius. We're still trying to work out where we stand but for now let us get you the facts: Saucy Sauce will be available exclusively at Tesco from 23rd August and will cost £2.69 for a 400ml bottle.

As always, the reaction on social media is mixed, but it's *leaning* towards disgust rather than desire. Who are we kidding, people seem pissed.

One Twitter user said the idea of Saucy Sauce made them "gag out loud" while another penned "mayochup" alongside a load of sick-face emojis - which says it all.

"Why are we even pretending mayochup is a thing," fumed another.

Someone even called the creator "a heathen", which we have to admit we found quite funny.
