We're only just out of Christmas and a couple of days into the new year, but everyone is already banging on about Easter. Can we just slow down for a second? It's 88 DAYS AWAY!

Yeah, it seems a bit premature - but we've got something that might make it just about justifiable, as Cadbury has just launched a new limited edition version of the famed Creme Egg.

The special egg will be a white chocolate riff on the milk chocolate classic, and will be available in stores between the 1st of January and 1st of April. Yum!

And in a move that sounds like it's straight out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, if you want one, you'll have to hunt it down. The rare limited edition eggs will be disguised as the bog standard Creme Eggs that you know and love, meaning it'll take some dedication to track them down.

To up the game even more, there's also even free cash involved. Anyone lucky enough to find the rare limited edition eggs will also be in with a chance of winning up to £2,000, with prizes of £1,000 and £100 also up for grabs - not quite Willy Wonka's entire sweet factory, but not a bad prize all the same.

One Creme Egg should cost you 58p (yeah, yeah, back in your day it was about half the price and twice the size), or you can usually rely on multipacks for a cheaper rate. A worthwhile investment if you find yourself bagging a grand.

And if you're worried about it being too early to get your Easter on, just look around and realise that everyone else is already on it, so you might as well just join the party.

Before we'd even thrown out the Christmas wrapping paper, retailers had already got on the Easter hype, starting to fill shops with the not-so-seasonal sweet treats as early as Boxing Day.

With many still in mourning for Christmas, the overall reaction wasn't a good one - in fact, it was so bad that Co-op had to do some damage control on Twitter.

"As a convenience retailer, our stores often have limited backroom space which means products go on-shelf when space appears," Co-op tweeted.

"Sales figures also show that many customers will buy chocolate eggs as soon as they can."

So basically, there are plenty of wrong 'uns in the world who'll start chowing down on Easter eggs now.
