Nothing marks the start of the festive season like the popping of corks and the sweet taste of bubbly and thankfully Aldi's here to ensure our glass is always full with its new six litre bottle of prosecco.

The huge bottle of bubbles, officially known as a Methuselah, will hit stores and be online from tomorrow (Wednesday 14th November).

Aldi's Methuselah is big enough to fill up to 64 glasses, meaning it is the perfect addition to any Christmas party.

The supermarket's giant prosecco is the equivalent of eight standard bottles, and will come with a £79.99 price tag.

This works out at around £10 a bottle, so while it's not the cheapest booze on the market, you're bound to impress your mates when you turn up to pre-drinks with one of these.

Aldi's Methuselah of Giotti Spumante Prosecco is described as a 'sweet, creamy and zesty' fizz - the supermarket's wine range has won over 150 medals by international awarding bodies, so it's pretty much guaranteed to be delicious.

"Be everyone's favourite guest this Christmas with this show stopping Methuselah bottle of Giotti Spumante Prosecco, the equivalent of eight regular sized bottles or 64 glasses," says Aldi.

"A sweet, almost creamy, mouth full with flavours of lemon zest, tangerine and pear mean this Prosecco is sure to be a crowd pleaser this year."

If your party won't manage 64 glasses of bubbles, the supermarket is selling a smaller Jeroboam, which will also be in-store and online from tomorrow.

The Jeroboam holds a still-impressive 24 glasses and will cost £39.99.

This one is the equivalent of three litres or four standard bottles of prosecco, and was a hit last year so expect a riot in the booze aisles if you want one.

There's also a magnum of the fizz available, which is the equivalent to two standard 750 ml bottles.

Aldi has priced these at just £13.99, which works out at just under £7 a bottle and is the most affordable pick of the bunch.
