Aldi has just announced that a huge six litre bottle of prosecco, known as a Methuselah, will be soon stocked in its booze aisles.

The bottle of bubbly is so big that it will fill up to 64 glasses of the fizzy wine, so there is no need to worry about running out at pre-drinks.

Just to put this into perspective for you, a bottle of prosecco usually holds 75cl of bubbly or six glasses of prosecco.

The affordable supermarket's Giotti Spumante Prosecco will be in Aldi stores from 14th November, meaning it will be here just in time to add a little extra sparkle to Christmas.

However, you might want to keep your fingers crossed that you are on santa's 'nice' list this year, as the bottle has a £79.99 price tag.

"Be everyone's favourite guest this Christmas with this show stopping Methuselah bottle of Giotti Spumante Prosecco, the equivalent of eight regular sized bottles or 64 glasses," says Aldi.

"A sweet, almost creamy, mouth full with flavours of lemon zest, tangerine and pear mean this Prosecco is sure to be a crowd pleaser this year."

If you don't have enough space in your fridge for a six litres of prosecco, then Aldi is also selling a smaller four litre bottle known as a Jeroboam, as well as a magnum for just £13.99.

If you want to avoid waking up with a sore head from all that fizz you'll be knocking back at Christmas, then Aldi has launched hangover-free prosecco.

The Organic Prosecco shouldn't give you a banging headache because it is made with less sulphite preservatives than a normal bottle of bubbly would be.

Sulphite preservatives are usually used in wine to keep it fresher for longer, but they are also what can cause your hangover.

The eco-friendly fizz is sourced from the Corvezzo family's 150-hectare estate, 30km north-east of Venice, and costs £8 a pop.
