We love Bank Holidays, we love prosecco and we love Aldi - and now we're about to love the three of them at once as the supermarket chain has just slashed the price of its prosecco just into time for the long weekend.

Horray!

Yes, the budget supermarket is discounting the price of its Castellore Prosecco Frizzante DOC to £3.99, a meager sum considering it's received many positive reviews online.

The 75cl bottle of prosecco usually costs £5.49, meaning that's a discount of £1.50 - that's a lot when it means we can by more prosecco with our change. Maths.

On Aldi's website, the description of the fizz reads: "This semi-sparkling wine has the same soft and fruity peach, pear and lemon zest flavours that you'd expect from our Castellore Prosecco DOC - just in a gentler Frizzante style. It works fantastically with seafood, or why not try it as an aperitif?"

Tracey from Scotland, who reviewed the product online, wrote: "Bought a miniature bottle of this because the wife only wanted one glass on our way out. the (sic) next day we returned to buy a case of the large bottle! extremely good value and a beautiful sweet taste and hold its bubbles even overnight in the fridge 100% recommend Aldi does it again."Each bottle contains 10.5% ABV, the unit in which alcohol content is measured.

Aldi

Aldi originally introduced the offer over the Easter Bank Holiday, but the supermarket has confirmed it's continuing right through the three day weekend.

Luckily for us, we're due some glorious weather this weekend, too, and we all know prosecco is the perfect accompaniment to the sunshine.

So whether you're heading to a BBQ, having a few bevs in the park or planning to sit in front of Netflix all weekend (no judgement here), Aldi's got you covered.
