Oscars 2019: Charlize Theron Debuts Dramatic Brunette Makeover On Red Carpet

Throughout her years on the Hollywood screen, Charlize Theron has been known for her blonde tresses.

However, at the 2019 Academy Awards, the actress debuted one of her most dramatic makeovers to date, as she took to the red carpet with a brand new brunette bob...

Her new look was completed with a backless sky blue Dior gown, which I'm sure we can all agree was nothing short of an excellent choice.

Teasing Theron's new 'do on Instagram just before the awards began, her hairdresser, Adir Abergel, wrote: "Decided to chop it all off before the big moment."

Unsurprisingly, fans were quick to react, with many praising the actress' bold new look.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Almost didn't recognize Charlize Theron with that hair."

"Charlize looks SENSATIONAL. I've never seen her look this assured, sexy, or dynamic," wrote a second.

A third added: "Charlize Theron with dark hair i- I don't even have words."

This isn't the first time Theron has taken a risk when it comes to her hair, though.

Back in 2015 she took the plunge and agreed to have all of her locks shaven off for her role 'Mad Max: Fury Road'.

Speaking about the decision at the time of the film's release, she said: "This was an exciting one for me.

"I just had this moment where I was like, 'I need to shave my head! I can't think about what I'm going to do with my hair in this movie. I'm going to be in the desert. I'm a new mother. Let's just shave it.' The next day we did it. I can't even imagine doing it any other way."
